Alh Kabiru Muhammad Dabai, Magayakin Zuru has advocated for community incorporation in the fight against banditry in kebbi state and Northern Nigeria.
Alh Kabiru Muhammad Dabai popularly known as Yakaji is a traditional tittle holder of Magayakin Zuru, Zuru Emirate council. He is also a Commissioner in the Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KSIEC).
Magayakin Zuru who described banditry activities as a threat to economic and educational development, revealed that incorporating the community will go along way in augmenting security shortfall and expansion of military onslaught against the criminal elements.
He narrated how the recent flow of refugees in Zuru town and other local government headquarters and banditry attacks may likely pose economic threats in the area in addition to loss of lives.
Magayakin Zuru appealed to the Government of Kebbi state under the leadership of Sen Atiku Bagudu on the need to effectively utilise local vigilante groups in the state to fight banditry due to their numerous contributions in that aspect. He described despite challenges faced by the operational activities of Yansakai in Zuru, they have performed wonderfully in the fight against banditry and it is timely if they can be coached on rules of engagement.
Alh Kabiru Muhammad Dabai further commended His Royal Highness, Maj Gen Dr Muhammadu Sani Sami, Sami Gomo II, the Emir of Zuru for his efforts in addressing banditry activities, other stake holders, state and federal government respectively.
He commended the role of security agents and Yansakai in the search and rescue mission of the recently kidnapped teachers and students of FGC Birnin Yauri in kebbi state.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who gave their lives to protect us.
